I Wish I felt more SICK

April 28, 2009 · 4 Comments

I am six weeks today. I have been feeling a little anxious because I haven’t been feeling as sick as I remember feeling with Jack. (When Iwas pg with Jack.)When we were pregnant the first time and had a miscarriage I never really felt that sick.I know that ever pg is different and that just because of my history of nausea with Jack and current lack thereof is no reason to panic. But Sunday afternoon I started feeling nauseated and I’ve never been so happy to feel sick. We have an ultrasound next Monday May the 4th and we should definitely be able to see a heartbeat then. Those of you who have been pg before when did you start to have morning sickness?

In other updates I am hoping I don’t have swine flu after sitting next to a very nice Hispanic man yesterday who had just returned from vacation and was hacking next to me on the plane. I am sure I don’t have it but I was surprised how afraid I felt. Very ridiculous!

The reason I was on the plane was that I am currently sitting at a car dealer in CT buying a Toyota Sienna van. I’m very excited but it is a tempered excited because a van is a big purchase. We’re forking over a nice chunk of mostly Matt’s hard earned mulah for this behemoth.

Now with Prometrium

April 19, 2009 · 3 Comments

Because of my borderline low progesterone, the RE prescribed Prometrium, a yellow pill that helps build up progesterone.  My level was 12.  Level below 12 are not considered high enough to sustain a pregnancy. So I’m feeling a little scared right now.  I’m taking it twice a day.  If the levels get too low you start bleeding and then.. that’s it.. so  Please pray for me that I will have peace no matter what happens.

I’ll keep you posted..

Second Beta Number (plus Progesterone)

April 15, 2009 · 1 Comment

The second Beta came back 211– Which is more than doubling and looks great.  The progesterone was 12– which is really low, lower than last time. I’m a little scared about that.. the doctor is gone for the day and I’m feeling nervous.

So- I’m glad the numbers were up for the HCG– but a little scared because the progesterone is pretty low.

I’ll keep you updated!

Dream come true

April 14, 2009 · 1 Comment

On Thursday a day I had been looking forward to for a LOONG time happened.  I had been salivating over this day for months.  Dreaming about it even.

Jack and I arrived at the parking lot at 8:45.I wasn’t sure I’d come to the right place because there weren’t any other vendors there. But soon I saw the familiar sign for Victory Farms.  Our weekly CSA farm share had begun… Every year from April to November we get the bulk of our veggies from Victory Farms CSA (community shared agriculture).  We pay money over the winter to the farmer and then  receive a share of whatever the farm produces.  I was very excited to get Arugula, Radishes, Spinach, Carrots and Broccoli Rabe.  I love the variety and how fresh everything is.  Here is pic to give  you a taste! It makes eating your veggies one of my favorite parts of the meal. I also love that I can picture in my head where all my veggies have grown.  I know the farmer and I visit his farm every year.

Beta Values

April 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This morning around 10 I sailed in the LabCorp office and found about 20 other people in the waiting room. (I go for all my blood work at a separate facility called LabCorp that does blood testing for everything.)  When I was signing in I told the nurse the doctor said I had to have the results before 11 and she waved me in from of all the waiting folks.  I felt pretty embarrassed about that, but not so embarrassed that I didn’t want to go ahead with my test.

The results just came in– My hcg number was 96.  That is right about average for 14 DPO (days past ovulation). I like this site called beta base that has information on beta testing averages and such.

I’ll go back Wednesday for another test for HCG (the hormone your body makes when you are pregnant that  increases exponentially mine was 96 and if things go as planned it will go up to something like 50,000! I wonder if that increase is what makes you so sick? ) and progesterone

Things feel a litte surreal right now but I’m tentatively excited.  Here is a picture of what my sister has been calling the “maybe baby” looks like now.

Of course even though things are tentative, I have figured out the due date– around December 21st. Of course given that we make it that far– given my history of going really late– it will probably be more like a New Year’s baby!

I’ll keep you posted.

I am so grateful to God for this amazing gift–and  thank you for walking with me during this journey!

Definitely Positive

April 12, 2009 · 3 Comments

I’ve taken pregnancy tests yesterday and today and they were both positive. I go in tomorrow for a blood test.  I’m excited but tempered– of course I’ll feel more relieved once I know the beta numbers from the blood test.  And of course even more relieved if we get through the first few weeks and see a heartbeat!

Maybe Positive?

April 10, 2009 · 1 Comment

This morning I just couldn’t stand the waiting any longer and decided to take a Pregnancy Test.  Besides that fact that I’ve never had a test come back positive before 14 DPO (days past ovulation).  The faintest second line ever came back.  Matt is still unsure whether or not there actually was a line or not.  I tried to take a picture of it but I’m embarrassed to say that I couldn’t get the camera to focus and I’m not even sure it would have shown up. (it was THAT light!)  I’ll keep you posted about my maybe positive test news!  I called the doctor and have plans to go Monday for a blood test hoping that I get more of an actual line between now and then!

Hilarious Video of Jack “meowing” to bears

April 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Okay so maybe I’m the only one who finds it adorable.  He is learning his animal sounds, he just hasn’t QUITE figured out what noise bears say.  Or maybe he thought they were cats…

Videos of Jack in Colorado

April 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The first is Jack hugging and kissing the metal bears at the house we stayed in. Notice how he says “I nice” when he hugs them.   The second is of him eating his first S’more. A big thanks to Aunt FAITH for taking them (Jack’s life would be much less documented if it weren’t for her beautiful pictures and videos) and posting them!

Ovulation– Maybe?

April 4, 2009 · 1 Comment

I might have ovulated last  Monday. Based on my handy dandy Ovulation Predictor Kit (OPK) which I have been taking at not so scientific intervals based on my cervical mucous (CM).  the OPK  went positive Saturday. And my temperature went up Tuesday.  Usually your temp goes up the next day after you ovulate.  It has stayed elevated for a few days.  So we’ll see.  Hopefully two weeks from last  Monday (the 13th I think) we’ll either see a positive result or I’ll start my cycle. Both of which are relatively positive things.  I’ll keep you posted.
