Moroccan Lamb Burgers

We had these last night for dinner. They are very flavorful and delicious. We served them like traditional burgers with baked beans, chips, salad, and watermelon for dessert. I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to regular burgers. Sorry I don’t have any pictures of them. We ate them too fast for that.

1 Lb. ground Lamb

2 T chopped fresh mint

2 T. Chopped fresh Cilantro

2 T. Chopped fresh oregano

1 T. chopped garlic

1 tsp. sherry

1 tsp. White wine vinegar

1 tsp. molasses

1 tsp. cumin

¼ Tsp allspice

½ tsp red pepper flakes

½ tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

4 pita rounds

4 oz. feta cheese, crumbled

Preheat grill medium heat. Place the lamb in a large bowl and mix all ingredients except pitas and feta. Mix well. Shape into four patties. Oil grill grates. Grill burgers 5 minutes on each side. Heat pitas briefly on grill. Serve burgers wrapped in pitas with feta cheese.

  1. Hey Catherine, what is 1 tsp cherry? is that extract or what? of course this sounds GREAT as i LOVE lamb. great idea. did you come up with this yourself? where do you get your pitas? do you use thin or thick (think Greek). i don’t like feta, but i’m sure they would be good anyway.
